What Is Respite Care?
The primary purpose of respite care is to give primary caregivers (who are often family members) a break from their caregiving responsibilities, allowing them to rest, recharge, and attend to their own needs, while ensuring that the person receiving care continues to receive the necessary support and attention during the caregiver's absence.
Our Respite Care Services
When our caregivers visit, they will quickly put your loved one at ease by engaging in friendly conversation and providing assistance with a wide variety of home care needs. Our caregivers can help your loved one with dressing, bathing and other personal care needs. They can also help around the house performing simple chores and preparing healthy meals.
Our services provide temporary support whenever and however you need it. As a result, you’ll have time to step away for a few hours, run errands, or even just go have fun. Not only will your emotional health benefit from respite care assistance, but your overall relationship with your elderly or disabled loved one can improve as well.
It’s important for every caregiver to balance both the needs of the individual and their own. If this delicate dance is not performed correctly, it’s all too easy for a caregiver to “burn out,” leading to lack of sleep, imbalance in lifestyle, or overall decreased happiness. We offer a flexible solution that is both effective and affordable.
“My mother has Alzheimer’s and Charter Oak’s caregivers have allowed me to get out of the house without having to worry that my mom is in good hands.”
