What is Veterans Care?

As a veteran founded company, we are honored to provide Veterans Care to members of the armed services through our partnership with the Veterans Administration (VA). Veterans Care includes our homemaking, companionship, respite and personal care services and is intended to support our veterans and their families.

Charter Oak Home Care believes we should give our all for those willing to give their all for our country. Many veterans are unaware of the services they are eligible for and we are on a mission to change that so every veteran in Connecticut has access to the home care services available to them. The veterans community often faces unique physical and mental health challenges and our services can help provide care in the familiar environment of home.

What services are Veterans eligible for with your company?

The VA Health Benefit Program through partnership with the Veterans Health Administration allows us to provide personal care services. This is the most common service we provide and generally the most straightforward to qualify for.

VBA Pension Program also known as (Veterans Pension and Aid and Attendance) provides funds for veterans or their surviving spouses to pay for our services. This program has an income cap and can be a great option for spouses of veterans.

Who is eligible for VA services?

You can visit the VA website (https://www.va.gov/health-care/eligibility/) to see if you qualify for care. Additionally, Charter Oak Home Care has relationships with Veterans Service Officers throughout our service area whose job it is to walk you through the sign up process.
