What is Alzheimer’s?
Alzheimer’s disease is a progressive neurological disorder that primarily affects memory, thinking, and behavioral functions. If you have a loved one with Alzheimer’s you may be unsure how you can help. Fortunately the Alzheimer’s Association has many resources available to help seniors and their families living with this disease. Each year the Alzheimer’s Association hosts events such as the Walk to End Alzheimer’s which we are pleased to sponsor!
What is the Walk to End Alzheimer’s?
The Walk to End Alzheimer’s is held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide. This event is available to people of all ages and abilities to join the fight against Alzheimer’s. The Walk to End Alzheimer’s brings awareness to the disease and is an opportunity to connect with your local community. The walk is also a fundraiser to raise funds towards the research toward methods of prevention, treatment, and hopefully a cure. Every dollar raised is a big help to anyone living with Alzheimer’s disease in your personal life or within the community. The Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the world’s largest fundraiser to fight the disease. There is no fee or obligation to donate but it is highly encouraged. If you cannot donate, coming to walk and show your support is also appreciated.
